Zimbabwean simulates death to receive insurance premium

Thulile Bhebhe, a 49-year-old South African living in London, simulated the death of her husband to claim a life insurance premium worth 539 600 USD.

The husband, Bekezela Bhebhe, a Zimbabwean aged 52, simulated his own death for two months - between August 1st, and September 30th, 2016.

Released on bail, the couple will appear on December 13th, 2018 in front of Crown Court in London. Bekezela Bhebhe could face a five-year prison sentence. His wife will be tried on the same day.
