The yellow vests cost 245.9 million USD to insurers

The yellow vests require great expenses for insurers. By the end of May 2019, the insured losses amounted to 217 million EUR (245.9 million USD).

Two months earlier, the French Insurance Federation (FFA) calculated the cost of the damages resulting from the acts of vandalism and the destruction of other urban furniture and commercial facades, etc... to 180 million EUR (203.9 million USD). The loss declarations exceed the 10 000.

Had the theft risks and indirect damages after riot been covered by insurers, the cost would have been higher.
