The wigs will soon be fully reimbursed

French women with cancer and who undergo chemotherapy treatment will be able to benefit from wigs that fully refunded by the social security.

The measure which comes into effect in April 2019 will make it possible to fully compensate the purchase of class 1 hair prostheses (in synthetic fibres), whose price is fixed at 350 EUR (399 USD).

Currently, the reimbursement of this model is capped by social security at 125 EUR (143 USD), an amount that does not even reach one third of the price of the basic synthetic models.

Wigs made with natural hair, whose prices can go up to 700 EUR (798 USD), will not be reimbursed in full. Their refund amounts to 250 EUR (285 USD).
