Since 10 August 2026, the Philippines has been hit by floods and landslides triggered by torrential rains and tropical cyclones.
The latest figures put the death toll at 23, with 17 people injured and one still missing, while 24 893 people have been displaced and relocated to 523 evacuation centers.
The severe weather has damaged 1 863 homes, including 182 that were completely destroyed.
In Baguio, located 260 km north of the capital Manila, meteorological services recorded a record 1 413 millimeters of rainfall over nine days, well above the city’s usual monthly average of 963 millimeters.
In response, the Philippine government has declared a state of natural disaster in 50 cities and provinces.
