Med Re in the run-off

On October 28, 2009, the board of directors of The Mediterranean Insurance & Reinsurance Company Limited (Med Re) has decided to close down its underwriting operations.

This move results from the group's failure to convince some investors to enter the company's capital. O.F. Aneizi is managing the run-off as of December 1, 2009.
