Maritime piracy has reached its lowest level in four years

The Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against ships in Asia (ReCAAP) posted a 65% drop in piracy during the first nine months of 2016.

Only 59 incidents were reported during the first three quarters of 2016 against 169 during the same period in 2015.
