Lloyd's of London closed the first half of 2025 with a 6.2% increase in turnover, reaching 32.5 billion GBP (44.6 billion USD).
The underwriting result was down 51.6% year-on-year to 1.5 billion GBP (2.1 billion USD). The combined ratio worsened by 8.8 percentage points to 92.5%, primarily due to losses from the California wildfires in the first quarter of the financial year.
The British giant's pre-tax profit was 4.2 billion GBP (5.8 billion USD), marking a 14.3% decline over one year. Meanwhile, investment return surged 52.4% to 3.2 billion GBP (4.4 billion USD).
