Kevin Rethual appointed new CEO of Munich Re Retakaful

Kevin Rethual has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Munich Re Retakaful, the Malaysian subsidiary of the German group Munich Re. He succeeds Serena Thio, who is retiring from the role. The appointment will take effect on 1 June 2026.

K. Rethual began his career in 2017 at Sun Life, where he held leadership positions in Malaysia and Hong Kong.

He joined Munich Re Retakaful in 2021 and subsequently served as Head of Pricing and later as Chief Commercial Officer.
