Insurance fraud: Arson kills three firefighters

In Italy, a man decided to blow up a building located on his farm. He obviously aimed at benefiting from the insurance indemnity. Nonetheless, he did not take the easiest way to achieve his goal. In fact, the insured fabricated a time bomb with gas cylinders and a detonator. Meanwhile, a malfunction in the delay system caused the fire.

When the firefighters arrived on site and started to fight the flames believing it was an ordinary fire, that’s when the gas bottles exploded causing the death of three of them.

Having discovered suspicious elements at the scene, the police searched the owner’s house only to discover the instructions of the detonator. The man ultimately confessed to the crime.
