Hannover Re purchases Argenta Holdings

The German reinsurer Hannover Re has acquired the British group Argenta Holdings. The latter holds Argenta Syndicate Management, Argenta Private Capital as well as a stake in Argenta Syndicate 2121, Lloyd's syndicate focusing on special and non life risks.

The transaction worth 142.5 million GBP (177.7 million USD) is expected to be finalised in the third quarter of 2017.
Argenta Syndicate 2121 generated 280 million GBP (344.5 million USD) of premiums in 2016.
