Direct Line rejects Aviva's takeover offer

The Board of Directors of Direct Line Insurance Group has unanimously rejected Aviva's 3.28 billion GBP (4.15 billion USD) takeover bid.

Direct Line considers that the offer, made by its competitor on 19 November 2024, is opportunistic and significantly undervalues the company.

Between February and March 2024, the Belgian insurance group Ageas had already made two attempts to acquire Direct Line, both of which were also rejected by the insurer.
