Bernhard Kaufmann, new Chief Risk Officer at Swiss Re

Bernhard Kaufmann has joined Swiss Re to replace Patrick Raaflaub as Chief Risk Officer (CRO). The appointment will take effect on 1 October 2025.

B. Kaufmann has 26 years' professional experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector. Over the past 17 years, he served as CRO at Munich Re, NN Group (a Dutch insurance company) and, most recently, Helvetia. He also held senior management positions at Munich Re.

B. Kaufmann holds a PhD in theoretical physics from the Technical University of Munich (Germany).
