Aviva sells Friends Provident International

British insurer Aviva cedes the Asian and Middle Eastern activities of its subsidiary Friends Provident International (FPIL) to International Financial Group. The transaction, amounting to 340 million GBP(443 million USD), is part of the insurer's strategy to get rid of unprofitable business.

It should be noted that FPIL employs 500 people and manages approximately 180 000 policies in the aforementioned regions.
