Debate for two years now, the merger of the Insurance Commission (IC) with the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been approved by both Houses of Parliament.
This merger is a step in the restructuring plan announced in 2012 aimed at reducing public expenditure by scrapping or merging independent government institutions.
