Unified Insurance Law: compliance deadline extended for Egyptian market players

The Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has granted market participants an additional year to comply with the Unified Insurance Law, which entered into force on 11 July 2024. The new compliance deadline has been extended to 11 July 2027.

This is the final extension permitted under Article 7 of the Law.

Through this extension, the FRA seeks to provide insurance sector stakeholders with additional time to meet the new regulatory requirements, particularly those relating to corporate governance, financial reporting, and the organization of business operations.
