Stress climate test for French companies in 2020

climatThe Banque of France and the the authority of prudential supervision and resolution (ACPR) are setting up a climatic stress test. The aim is to assess the resilience of the financial and insurance sectors in the face of a large-scale disaster.

During the first quarter of 2020, companies will have to face three situations, each simulating a particular ecological transition. The experts will thus be able to assess the companies' reactivity to a gradual, brutal or even non-existent transition. The results are expected to be published by the end of the year.

The Netherlands and the United Kingdom are planning the same type of test for the financial sector.
