Tunisian insurance market: 2024 figures

The General Insurance Committee (CGA) has published the Tunisian market's key business indicators for the year ended 31 December 2024.

The turnover (net premiums) of all direct insurers reached 3.8 billion TND (1.2 billion USD), up by 10.8% over one year.

Non-life premiums increased by 7.3% to 2.7 billion TND (844.8 billion USD). This segment is dominated by motor insurance, with a market share of 39.1%, followed by group health insurance (15.3%) and fire (5.7%).

The life and capitalization business recorded a 20.1% growth in underwriting to 1.1 billion TND (344.2 million USD).

Claims paid by direct insurance companies amounted to 2.05 billion TND (641.5 million USD) at end-December 2024, against 1.9 billion TND (618.9 million USD) reported at the end of 2023.

With 1 917 626 files opened in 2024, the number of reported claims increased by 2%.
