Tunisia: insurance agents’ union dismisses article 56 of the finance law

The national union for Tunisian insurance agents, (SNAGAT), has stood against the enforcement of article 56 of the 2016 finance law. This provision requires that the conclusion of an insurance contract be conditioned to the payment of the annual road tax.

The Union has estimated that supervision of road tax payment is not part of the attributions of insurance agents. Still according to SNAGAT, this duty shall be fully incumbent upon the State’s agencies.
