Strategic committee to develop health insurance in Saudi Arabia

The Strategic Committee for Health Insurance, together with insurance companies and health care providers, is working to develop governance plans.

This action plan shall focus on:

• improving the procedures of claims settlement
• developing the electronic transaction platform;
• the classification and medical coding;
• a better presentation of insurance policies;

In Saudi Arabia, health insurance reported more than 52% of the total annual premiums, that is 18 billion SAR (4.8 billion USD).
