Sompo Holdings acquires Aspen Insurance Holdings

Japanese group Sompo Holdings has acquired 100% of Aspen Insurance Holdings, a Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance company, in a deal valued at 3.5 billion USD.

The transaction, unanimously approved by the Boards of Directors of both companies, is expected to close in the first half of 2026.

Through this acquisition, Sompo aims to strengthen its presence in high-growth international markets, diversify its revenue streams, and enhance its overall financial profile.
