AM Best has assigned a financial strength rating of “A-” (Excellent) and a long-term credit rating of “a-” to SanlamAllianz Re (Mauritius). The outlook for both ratings is stable.
The rating recognizes the pan-African reinsurer's strong balance sheet, strong operating performance, neutral business profile and appropriate enterprise risk management.
AM Best also acknowledges SanlamAllianz Re's strategic importance for its parent companies Sanlam and Allianz.
It is worth recalling that since July 2024, Saham Re has been operating under the name “SanlamAllianz Re”, following the merger of Sanlam and Allianz in Africa which gave rise to the “SanlamAllianz” joint venture.
