Rising health insurance tariffs

The state will partly subsidize health insurance for the poorest. This announcement follows the increase in insurance premiums. These will go from 1000 RWF (1.6 USD ) to 2000 RWF ( 3.3 USD) or even 7000 RWF (11.6 USD) according to the financial capacity of each insured. This funding will be carried out through the national plan, Mutuelles de Santé, a community-based health insurance, which is designed to promote access to insurance for the poor.
