QIC launches new range of travel insurance as summer approaches

As the summer season and end-of-year school vacations draw nearer, Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) is introducing a wide range of travel insurance solutions for Qatari citizens traveling abroad.

The insurance packages are available in three formulas:

• The Worldwide Plan, tailored to individuals traveling to all parts of the world. It covers policyholders against unforeseen events such as flight delays, missed departures, loss of luggage or passport while traveling, and medical emergencies abroad.
• The “Fly Europe Plan” covers medical treatment and emergency medical assistance expenses for individuals travelling to the Schengen area or other European countries, up to a limit of 50 000 USD.
• The “Regional Plan” is designed for policyholders travelling from Qatar to South-East Asia or to countries neighbouring the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council). This solution covers travel accidents, medical and legal expenses in case of insured events in these regions.

Depending on the country of destination, insurance rates range between:

• 44 QAR (12 USD) for the Indian sub-continent and Southeast Asia
• 50 QAR (13.6 USD) for the Schengen area
• 87 QAR (23.6 USD) for other countries (excluding USA and Canada)
• 126 QAR (34.2 USD) for worldwide destinations, including USA and Canada
