QIC introduces new personal cyber insurance

Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) has launched Qatar's first ever personal cyber insurance coverage.

The new scheme covers financial losses associated with digital risks such as cyber-attacks, online shopping and credit card fraud, phishing scams, cyber extortion threats (blackmail, ransomware, etc.), identity theft and damage to connected and portable devices.

Coverage is only available to QIC policyholders as a complement to their home, comprehensive motor and travel insurance policies, for 100 QAR (26.9 USD) per year.
