According to a study by Badri Management Consultancy, the 6 conventional insurance companies listed on the Oman Stock Exchange closed the first two quarters of 2024 with revenues of 274 million OMR (709.7 million USD), up by 10% year-on-year.
The two takaful insurers, also listed on the stock exchange, posted gross contributions of 46 million OMR (119.1 million USD) compared with 37 million OMR (95.8 million USD) during the same period of 2023, representing a 25% growth.
For the first half of 2024, the eight companies in question recorded a net loss of 10 million OMR (25.9 million USD), against a net profit of 2.2 million OMR (5.7 million USD) a year earlier.
