Omani insurers to include natural disaster coverage in insurance policies

The Capital Market Authority (CMA) in Oman has required local insurers to introduce natural disaster coverage in home, office and business insurance policies. Contracts issued or renewed shall henceforth include this coverage.

The new obligation follows non-compliance with insurance laws and regulations. Some insurance companies were excluding natural disaster coverage from their policies without the CMA's consent.
