In a press release, the Algerian Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (UAR) announced that compulsory motor third-party liability insurance premiums are set to rise by 30% in 2025.
This increase will be implemented in two stages:
- 15% on 1 January 2025
- 15% on 1 July 2025
This rate revision comes in the wake of rising road accident claims and the structural deficit in compulsory motor third-party liability coverage.
These adjustments are intended to offset the deficit caused by an imbalance between premiums collected and claims paid.
