Moroccan insurance market as at 30 June 2021

According to the data published by the Supervisory Authority for Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS), the market has recorded a turnover of 28.169 billion MAD (3.15 billion USD) in the first half of 2021, which represents a 3.08% increase compared to the 27.326 billion MAD (2.7 billion USD) recorded at the end of June 2020.

With a 56.3% market share, non-life premiums are progressing by 11% to reach 15.868 billion MAD (1.77 billion USD). The life activity is posting a 14.2% growth of its turnover with 12.301 billion MAD (1.37 billion USD). This class of business accounts for 43.7% of the total premiums underwritten in Morocco at the end of H1 2021.
