Meryem Chami, new CEO of AXA Africa

Meryem Chami has been promoted CEO of AXA Africa, replacing Hassan El-Shabrawishi who was appointed CEO of AXA International Markets (Latin America, Africa, Turkey, Middle East and South-East Asia).

M. Chami, who has 23 years professional experience, joined the French group in October 2020 as CEO of AXA Assurance Maroc and AXA CIMA (Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, Senegal).

This appointment is part of AXA's strategy to strengthen its positions in high-growth potential markets such as Africa.
