Howden acquires majority stake in Holos

Howden has acquired a 68.3% stake in Holos, a Kyoto-based insurance broker, strengthening its presence in the Japanese market. Since establishing operations in Japan in 2024, Howden has grown to employ over 450 people in the country.

The deal follows a series of strategic initiatives taken by the British brokerage group in 2024, including the creation of Howden Re Japan, the partnership with Keystone ILS Capital and the acquisition of Japanese broker Foresight.
