Generali recorded an 18.1% increase in turnover to 70.721 billion EUR (78.9 billion USD) as at 30 September 2024.
The Group's adjusted net profit amounted to 2.88 billion EUR (3.2 billion USD), down 3.3% in local currency on the 2.979 billion EUR (3.1 billion USD) posted in the first nine months of 2023. At 5.398 billion EUR (6 billion USD), operating income was up by 7.9% year-on-year.
The life business closed the first three quarters of the current year with a 23.3% increase in written premiums to 45.669 billion EUR (51 billion USD). At 3.035 billion EUR (3.4 billion USD), life operating income climbed by 8.9% over one year.
Premium volume for the property & casualty (P&C) segment increased by 9.8% to 25.052 billion EUR (27.9 billion USD). Operating income rose by 2.5% to 2.21 billion EUR (2.5 billion USD). The non-life combined ratio improved by 0.3 points to 94%, against 94.3% a year earlier. The cost of natural catastrophe losses stood at 930 million EUR (1.04 billion USD), mainly due to adverse weather events in Germany, Austria and Italy.
