Chinese insurance market: Q1 2024

Chinese insurance companies reported a 5.1% increase in overall turnover to 2 200 billion CNY (304.5 billion USD) for the first quarter of 2024.

Incurred losses climbed 47.8% to 735.2 billion CNY (101.8 billion USD) at the end of March this year.

Total assets of all local insurers amounted to 32 900 billion CNY (4 553 billion USD), up by 10.4% compared to the beginning of 2024.
