Axa withdraws from the Ukrainian market

Fairfax Financial has purchased all Axa's insurance activities in Ukraine. The French insurer therefore leaves the Ukrainian market after more than a decade of existence.

The Canadian investment fund acquires through this operation the non life entity (AXA Insurance) and the life, savings and retirement entity (AXA Insurance Life) of AXA.

The transaction is pending the local authorities' approval.

This cession is part of the strategy adopted by the French group in 2017 to refocus on the most profitable markets.
