Andreas Berger, new CEO of Swiss Re

Andreas Berger has been promoted Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Swiss Re. He succeeds Christian Mumenthaler, who is leaving the company after 25 years of service. The appointment will take effect 1 July 2024.

Among other qualifications, A.Berger holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Paris Dauphine University and a Master's degree in Law from Justus Liebig University Giessen (Germany).

He joined the Swiss reinsurer in March 2019 as CEO of Corporate Solutions and member of the Executive Committee.

Prior to joining the Swiss group, A. Berger worked for Allianz for 12 years.
