The Algerian insurance market generated total turnover of 57.3 billion DZD (427 million USD) across all lines of business at end-March 2026, up 0.2% year-on-year.
Conventional insurance recorded premiums of 52.4 billion DZD (390.5 million USD) in the first quarter of 2026, including 46 billion DZD (342.8 million USD) from the non-life business and 6.4 billion DZD (47.7 million USD) from life and health insurance.
Takaful premiums increased by 52.8% to 358.3 million DZD (2.7 million USD).
International reinsurance acceptances reached 4.6 billion DZD (34.3 million USD), marking a 26.1% increase compared with the same period in 2025.
