Algerian insurance market: Q1 2025 turnover

The National Insurance Council (CNA) has published data showing that the Algerian market's turnover for the first quarter of 2025 reached 56.9 billion DZD (423.8 million USD).

This represents a 13.3% increase on the 50.2 billion DZD (370.7 million USD) recorded a year earlier.

The direct market posted 53.5 billion DZD (398.4 million USD) in written premiums, compared with 46.8 billion DZD (345.6 million USD) in the same period of 2023, reflecting a 14.2% growth.

Direct premium volume is broken down as follows:

• Non-life: 46.7 billion DZD (347.8 million USD)
• Life and health insurance: 6.5 billion DZD (48.4 million USD)
• Takaful: 234.8 million DZD (1.7 million USD)

International reinsurance acceptances amounted to 3.4 billion DZD (25.3 million USD), up by 1.7% over one year.
