- The African Reinsurance Forum. The first session of this forum was held in 1995 in Lomé. Dedicated to African reinsurance, this event is a great success as it attracts a large number of both African and foreign reinsurers.
The Reinsurance Forum is held on the eve of each reinsurance renewal, usually in October. The previous 28th session took place in Egypt from 12 to 15 October 2024.
In addition to these two major events, the AIO regularly organizes various workshops and seminars.

This is a distinction awarded to individuals and companies who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the insurance industry in Africa.
Winners are announced at the conference closing ceremony.
Training
Training wise, AIO initiatives are supported by a leadership program and webinars:
- The Insurance and Finance Leadership program aims to sharpen the skills of industry professionals. Inaugurated in 2024 at the 28th African Reinsurance Forum held in Cairo, this curriculum, developed in collaboration with the College of Insurance Nairobi, is dedicated to three types of learners: middle managers, senior managers and CEOs.
- Webinars, organized in collaboration with external partners designed to provide ongoing training for members of the organization.
