Ranked second in 2022, Africa Re is back at the top of the African reinsurance rankings for 2023. The pan-African reinsurer ended the year with a turnover of 1 106 487 000 USD, up by 16.3% compared to the 951 789 000 USD recorded a year earlier.
Africa Re is now ahead of Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa (MRoA), which is now ranked second with 902 846 000 USD in premiums.
MRoA was the leading reinsurer in the African market in 2022, with a turnover of 1 059 593 000 USD.
