ACAPS: online sale of insurance products in Morocco

The Moroccan Insurance and Social Security Supervisory Authority (ACAPS) has issued an instruction on the online sale of insurance contracts. The new instruction will come into force on 1 July 2022.

The document sets out the terms and conditions for this new form of insurance distribution.

The online sale allows the insured to subscribe to their policy according to two options:

• The contracting is done online with an electronic signature of both parties. The insurance contract must be accessible to the insured at any time and sent to them, at their request, within seven days.
• The offer is made online and the physical contract is sent to the client for handwritten signature.
