49th FANAF General Assembly: panel 1

Moderated by Constant Assi, Managing Director of SUNU Services, and Ouafae Mriouah, CEO of SCR Maroc, the first panel of FANAF's 49^th General Assembly covered the theme: “The role of insurance and reinsurance in bridging the protection gap: challenges and opportunities in Africa”.

Panelists addressed the challenges facing the African continent and the industry's development potential.

The debate ended with a number of recommendations on how to strengthen the African insurance and reinsurance market:

• improving the regulatory framework
• capitalizing on technological innovations
• raising public awareness
• developing strategic partnerships
• adapting products to local realities
