Insurance policies cover flood risks

The torrential rains that fell on South Africa since mid-December have caused damages estimated at 123 million ZAR (18.5 million USD). Over a hundred people died and 8 400 others were displaced. Traditional insurance policies typically offer guarantees against damages caused by storms, floods, wind, snow or rain.
