Generali invests in Europe

GeneraliGenerali Group is preparing a bid of 3.31 billion USD for the acquisition of the European assets of MetLife, its US competitor.

MetLife has a presence in many European countries including Hungary, Poland, France, Italy and Spain. At the end of 2018, it reported a turnover of 64 billion USD, 1.32 billion USD of which in Europe. In its growth strategy in Europe, the Italian group acquired portugal's third largest insurer Seguradoras Unidas in July 2019 for the amount of 661 million USD.
