Complaints against Emirati insurers in 2018

DubaiThe Emirati Insurance Authority received 6 749 complaints from policyholders in 2018. This figure is decreasing by 29% compared to last year.

Claims mainly relate to motor insurance (5 306 complaints), health insurance (796 complaints), life insurance (147 complaints), property insurance (61 complaints), marine insurance (23 complaints).

The number of claims processed by a robot amounted to 644, that is 9.84% of the total complaints. According to the report prepared by the supervisory authority, 89.75% of the insured dealt with automatic responses are satisfied with the service provided. These figures encourage the development of artificial intelligence in the services delivered to customers.
