Nico Conradie has joined Santam Re, the reinsurance division of the South African group Santam Insurance, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He succeeds Kush Padia, who had been serving in an acting capacity. The appointment will take effect on 1 March 2026.
The new CEO holds a Master’s degree from North-West University and a Bachelor’s degree from Stellenbosch University (South Africa).
He began his career in reinsurance in 1990 at Hannover Re Africa. In 2003, he joined Munich Re, where he held several senior management roles, most recently serving as CEO of Munich Re Africa.
