On 17 October 2026, urban unrest swept through several French cities, including Paris, causing widespread property damage.
According to authorities, at least 3 000 businesses were affected, with the total cost of the damage expected to reach several hundred million euros.
In response, France Assureurs, in coordination with government authorities, is taking steps to support individuals, shop owners, and businesses affected by the unrest.
Insurers have committed to extending the claims filing deadline to 30 days, accelerating the compensation process, and facilitating advance payments for those facing the most difficult circumstances.
Policyholders are encouraged to file a police report as soon as possible and subsequently submit a claim to their insurer.
