AIG appoints Nancy Bewlay as new Chief Underwriting Officer

Nancy Bewlay has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer of American International Group (AIG), effective 8 September 2026.

Based in New York, she will report to Eric Andersen, CEO of AIG.

Bewlay brings 36 years of experience across the insurance, reinsurance, and brokerage sectors. Throughout her career, she has held senior leadership positions at Swiss Re, Marsh, General Star Management Company, and, most recently, AXA
