"Terrorist attack" premium increase on motor and home insurance policies

In France, the "terrorist attack" premium was increased on 1 July 2024 from 5.9 EUR (6.3 USD) to 6.5 EUR (7 USD). This amount is deducted from each motor or home insurance policy.

This upward revision will generate an additional 60 million EUR (64.3 million USD) to finance the The Guarantee Fund for Victims of Terrorist Acts and Other Offences (FGTI), which has been running at a deficit since 2021.
