Swiss Re: fifth wave of Covid-19

Swiss Re believes that the fifth wave of Covid-19, which has been raging in Europe for the past few weeks, will be less damaging to the economy than previous waves.

The reinsurer's optimism is mainly driven by the higher immunity of the population in the affected countries, as well as a better knowledge of the measures to adopt in case of a health crisis.

Swiss Re's analysts also point out that governments are likely to provide more financial support if the situation worsens.
