The general insurance committee (CGA) is currently studying the reform of the Insurance Code. The latter shall be submitted to the Tunisian parliament for approval in June 2017. Its implementation is expected for 2018. This is the biggest reform brought to this document since its development in 1992.
The main amendments relate to the establishment of a legal framework for life insurance, the improvement of insurance companies' governance, the simplification of contracts and the reduction of compensation deadlines.
