The guarantee CAT-NAT will be included in all non life contracts as from September

Starting from next September, the Natural Disaster Guarantee (CAT-Nat) shall be introduced in all contracts of damage insurance.
This new compulsory scheme binds individual owners of real estate property to underwrite an insurance policy covering natural disasters. Anyone in breach of this rule shall be made to pay a fine whose amount will be equal to that of the insurance premium with a 20% surcharge.
